Notes & Statistics From 2008 Hunts      In only our ninth year of Spring Turkey hunting, we were once again pleased with the success our hunters had. They saw and heard lots of turkeys and were given plenty of opportunity to harvest them as well.     In the 2008 season our turkey sighting numbers were down from the previous year.     2008 was an unusual year - we harvested 80 mature gobblers, and a lot of the hunters tagged out on the first day. But the weather was terribly hot and dry on most of our hunts. The turkeys didn't move a lot and stayed cool like humans would do. They moved early in the morning and again late in the afternoon.     All in all, through our management efforts and according to statistics, we have a plentiful population of turkeys here on the Rafter W Ranch .This year should be jam packed full of fun and excitement.
